LEAF PICK-UP
(Spring leaves may only be disposed of by burning or preparing as instructed by
Waste Management**. Leaves are
not picked up by the DPW in the spring)
The Village of Romeo Department of Public Works will begin leaf pickup the last week of October and will continue until the end of November, weather permitting.
Please have your leaves raked to the edge of the curb. If at all possible, DO NOT rake your leaves into the streets as this could cause parking/and
or traffic issues as well as blocking of the catch basins.
You may continue to bag your leaves in the approved recyclable paper bags and containers marked or stickered as YARD WASTE or you may choose to burn your leaves throughout the month of November.
Burning Permits may be obtained through the Bruce/Romeo Fire Department, please call (586) 752-2520 (Non emergency number).
After the November deadline, we suggest that the remaining leaves be used as compost for your gardens, or continue to bag the
remaining leaves, tie and bundle the yard waste and store them until the pickup by Waste Management resumes again in April.
Thank you for your cooperation. Should you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works
at (586) 752-2684, Monday through Friday between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm.

*Waste Management instructions as follows:

securely in bundles not exceeding 4 feet in length or 50 pounds. Please note that Michigan law prohibits mixing solid waste with yard waste for disposal.

picked up.
